We test Lake Michigan Beaches seven days a week. Inland Lakes are sampled on Tuesdays and Thursdays; beaches are sampled from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

Results are posted here and at www.earth911.org and michigancityparks.com, everyday by 11:00am. The Parks and Recreation Department also has a hotline number, (219) 873-1406, to access results. The LaPorte County Visitors Bureau also has a hotline number, (800) 634-2650 ext. 879, to access results.

Beach Rule & Notices- Spanish

If any beach water is closed, a sign will be posted at the entrance of the beach that states that Beach Waters are closed. The sign will have the date the beach is closed and if it is still posted after 11:00am, it is also closed that day as well. Please look for our new electronic sign at the entrance to Washington Park for beach closings of all Lake Michigan Beaches.
